Loganholme State School

We have 3 Prep classes in 2009 with around 65 students currently enrolled.

Our numbers have continued to climb each year as more families in the Loganholme community hear about our excellent programs. Each of our 2009 classes has its own full time teacher and up to 18 hours of teacher aide time each week. Our classes are :

• Prep B with Miss Beaumont
• Prep G with Mrs Gill
• Prep H with Miss Highman

Last year's program was very succesful with all of our children reading and writing and using basic numeracy. Some children are extremely talented already and have produced some outstanding literacy and numeracy results. Many are reading past the 'old' Year 1 standard! This is due to:

• very explicit and focused teaching and learning from the Year 1 teachers so far this year;
• fantastic partnerships between the teachers and families;
• Mrs Lavercombe's Prep and Year 1 morning reading programs; and
• excellent teaching on the part of the teachers from 2008. Well done!

What is Prep?

Prep is a full-time program that runs five days per week starting at 8:30am and finishing at 2:30pm each day. Children are expected to attend full-time to get the most out of Prep. Enrolment in Prep is based on each child's date of birth. See the table below to check if your child is eligible.
